"When a culture simply shrugs about what happens to people in war, it breaks the fragile sequence, the bond between all people." Michael Meade

"Love and respect, honor and reconciliation, healing and wisdom are on view here. You will be moved and transformed in service to our nation's healing." Ed Tick, author of War and the Soul
Healing happens when the burdens of war can be shared by the greater community. The mission of the Welcome Home Project is to bridge the historic gap between civilian and military worlds through the production and distribution of the documentary film, Voices of Vets. The film will be used to inspire programs which are based in the understanding that true healing for veterans requires awareness, acceptance and active participation by the people in local communities nationwide. With nearly two million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the hundreds of thousands from earlier wars, now is the time for the public to understand and to be directly involved. Please join us in this effort to open the long avoided conversation between our veterans and the civilian public. The impact of this effort will be dramatic, deeply moving, and vital for the well being of our whole society.
